Tunisia

A lazy dog in midday sun,
Lies for all to see,
It scrounges round for scraps,
And lives and breathes so free.

Its eyes are full of fear and dread,
Its hunger is so vast,
Its thirst is of the ocean pools,
And, in the midst of all, is cast

Into the centre of a storm,
To play a tune to drum,
It hankers for some guidance,
Like a puppet in the slum.

But when befriended by a guide
Who gives of all within,
The dog transforms, at last,
To a loyal God, akin.
