One World Project

The One World Project was developed as an initiative of world peace for the new millennium.

Comprising 198 poems in total, there are 197 poems dedicated to individual countries and their citizens, and the One World Poem, written for all.

The poems were written over a seven month period, between 18 March 1999 and 18 October 1999. They were then placed, together with a letter of introduction, inside mailing tubes and sent to the respective world leaders from Blackburn Post Office, Victoria, Australia, at 14:20 AEST on 19 October 1999.

It was envisaged that, by sending the poems together, their collective energy would spread a net of love and light over the globe.

Thirteen countries kindly replied to the initiative.
