Western Samoa
Dancing by the fireside,
A flea with joy akin,
Prances bold upon the coals,
And dares his foes to win.
He jumps and skips, so full of might,
Confident of life so true,
He lives of moment ripe,
And echoes all of Heaven’s hue.
But in a momentary second,
His life is thus destroyed,
Taken by a larger moth
Whose anger is employed:
“How dare a meagre mite,
So full of grace and air,
Expect to take of centre stage,
When all alone I fair”.
