Afghanistan

Belly-flopped upon a pool so clear,
The eyes outstretched to see both far and near,
The frog of colour suiting to its land,
Signifies that all is now at hand.

To be upstanding, proud and true,
A people who can deliver too,
Notes of precious hope to all,
And gather jewels before the fall

Of time which echoes long ago
A sentiment of Ancient Law,
Which now is but a dim reflection
Of that which bares a true connection

With all who listen to the Call,
With throats well cleared of all
The remnants of the past,
With palms upturned at last.
