Tambourines are jolly things
Which play such folly to the crowd,
And invite participation,
Beckoning, and ever loud,
To sing a song in notes so clear,
One for all of us to hear,
Of hope and future times ahead,
To be in peace, and partake of bread
Divine, immortal, ever sure
Of body whole, and in good frame,
To lay down weapons of the night,
And walk with love in so His Name.
You are a people strong and proud,
And play well into the night,
But time it is to lead the cheer,
And sing united, without fright.
