Resting on a stick of wood,
Absorbing all the rays of life,
Marking time within the moment,
Shading all the present strife.
Of lesson bold you do impart,
To teach us all to sing,
A rhyme of simple honesty,
And a rhythm whole, to bring
Us all to likely semblance,
Whole, at one, and proud,
We take to following your lead,
And mimic with words so loud.
Thank you for your humble nature,
Tall of stature, ever true,
Now’s the time to take a further step,
To extend yourselves now too.
