United Arab Emirates
Gold, it reeks of opulence,
It stands alone in time,
Of status grand and mighty,
It keeps us all in line.
Its glimmer gives of hope to be
Akin to grander sights,
It inspires progress true,
And propels us high as kites.
But what we see is thus akin
To a mosquito to a light,
Which masks a fiery outcome,
And zaps his energy at night,
To leave it dead and lifeless,
To fall without a care;
Take a mirror clear and true,
And face your essence fair.
