Saint Lucia
Tempered by a nature calm,
The doe walks gently by,
It takes of nothing for itself,
But lives under Heaven’s sky.
Beauty is its form and movement,
Graceful elegance its art,
All is forward motion, seeking
Heartfelt love to thus impart.
Sweet, the eyes are gazing,
All around to see,
Aching to be loved, and know
It has a right to be.
Desperate to lose the fear
Of game which takes its prey,
To dance and prance in air,
And live, of joy-filled day.
