What small sacrifices can each of us make today that will contribute in some minute way towards a future bright with cheer? But why, you ask, should anyone need to sacrifice at all? Why does a future of joy and peace require that we give up even a skerrick of our present life? What good can come of this?
It all boils down to participation in a future plan, and the ability to forget oneself in light of universality. And, so little is really asked of each of us in turn, that this small token may be viewed as a down payment or a test; either explanation serves to manifest an outcome larger than the individual, and this is vital, for, in order to fit oneself for a destiny so grand, one must be prepared to take a stand, and show by way of example, unconditional and wise, full of will and purpose all the while.
And in any case these so-called sacrifices usually represent long held vices which, at end of day, will need to fall away in order that we continue to grow and evolve, come what may.
So make a list of all those things you know you wish you didn’t have hanging about you, holding you back. And choose the least important to you, or the one you need much less, and do away with it at once with a determination dressed in robes of strength and courage, of iron will to end the circus which had up until now consumed your life with mindlessness.
And as you go your strength will grow, and other needless desires will fall, bolstered by your growing convictions and vision broad.
