26 December
A big chunk of time transpires between the birth and death of one sole life. And despite the years available, so little may seemingly be achieved. If one takes out all the wasted minutes, and time for sleep, what percentage of each day contributes to a purpose larger than oneself?
Take yourself away from familiar surroundings. Travel to a distant shore or mountain retreat. Pluck up the courage, and take a risk, to ask yourself all the questions lurking in your mind. Be open to the responses that you give. Think outside of space and time.
You will be surprised by just how inventive and creative you can be. You may well discover anew your long-held dreams. Solutions as to how to bring them to life will subsequently unfold so long as you remain open to change, and believe in the possibility of something more than that which present circumstances may allow.
There is no excuse for remaining in a rut. No amount of money or prestige will fill the void of ignoring your deepest yearnings, as yet unfulfilled. And no-one else can provide you with a justifiable excuse for putting your life on hold. Whether you are a wife or husband, partner, mother or father; the only good that’s served is that which considers the highest good of all.
Do not hide behind your responsibilities for others, or hold them hostage for the pain of self denial. Create some space for self, however small. Give yourself the time to consider well just what it is that you need to do this life. There are many facets to humanity and many experiences to be had. Live the life you came into this world to live.
