Soul Reflections

Day 23

In an effort to banish all thought one often finds oneself holding one’s breath. It is as though the act of not breathing will somehow assist one to prolong the results of quietening the mind. In reality, however, it does the opposite.

New experiences often bring with them a certain degree of fear. And when one is fearful the normal, relaxed cycle of breathing suffers.

What is there to fear in meditation? Simply the notion of letting go, of surrendering all the familiar, yet false, identifications of self to that which lies beyond earthly sensation.

But trust the process. Know that all will be revealed in time. The real self will shine through and you will understand, beyond all doubt, the eternal bliss of immortality.
