Day 15
As one progresses in meditation a new sensation of peace is experienced, not just during the practice but throughout the entire waking hours. The observer self begins to emerge, and the events of each day do not affect oneself so personally.
And it is this ability to remain focussed, and yet detached from life, that provides the conditions necessary for one to know thyself.
Make a conscious effort to observe your mind throughout the day. Where is its attention focussed? How much time is spent mulling over trivial matters, events that have already passed, fears for the future which may never eventuate?
Begin to train the mind to remain focussed on the task at hand. You will find that each task will be completed more quickly, and with better results. It is especially important to take care when the more mundane duties are performed, such as washing the dishes, mowing the lawn, or cleaning one’s teeth.
Make every effort to control your thoughts, and you will free yourself from the illusion of your past.
