Priorities are subjective unless one has a clear understanding of one’s purpose year by year. There are always more important and less important tasks, the knack is knowing, at the time, which ones should occupy your attention.
And then there are a few priorities which throughout one’s entire life will always be paramount, or should be so, and these have ever been essential to life itself, and can ill afford neglect at any stage. Of course we talk here of fresh air, clean water, organic nutrients and the like.
But rarely do we so order our lives in such a way. Oftentimes the unessential and easy road prevails, and happiness is treasured over and above the joy of being all one came into this world to be. For joy and happiness are not the same, one is lasting and otherworldly, a spiritual connection, whilst the lesser is an ephemeral illusion tied to earthly pleasure.
Always seek the higher ground and you shall have a view as expansive as one can have whilst resident in the world; feet firmly planted on the ground with head held high above the clouds. Think not of your own small patch, nor of your short life here, but elevate your thinking to embrace all people far and near, those who’ve gone before and those yet to reappear, and make decisions in your everyday which benefit all life.
Then, miraculously, you will find your own needs will be amply met, and minimal harm will come to the environment such that future generations will have a better world, one left by you in good condition, unspoiled.
Does this sound idealistic, unreasonable to you? Or can you picture in mind’s eye the truth of universal principles prioritised and made manifest of golden hue?
