Even when all hope seems lost there is a ray of light which disperses the darkest gloom far into the distant night. A candle lit with love and wisdom flickers to the last, making way for time and space and life upon the vast planet we call home.

There is no easy solution to depression, and its affect can be devastating and prolonged, but nothing lasts forever, and whilst there’s life there’s faith that someday soon a different song, one that’s sweeter than the last, will echo throughout the chasms of desert which had, up until that time, been known as the only place to call home.

Little celebrations are important daily, and equally so, is the ability to resolve the inner turmoil that so troubles the heart and mind. Reach out, where you can, to find a fellow traveller on this journey, one who has experience of your plight and who has overcome the seeming impossible fight to be free.

For freedom is what’s needed most, but it is a freedom not from self, but to be oneself at last, and know it so. And it is only when one has let go of all that represented the image of one’s shadow, that the true self can begin to shine like a candle, meekly at first, and later with a blinding force of brilliant light eternally aflame. And it is then that you shall know your name.

So do not hide from self or life. Do not try to leave. Instead take determined steps to breathe, unaided, a different air, one not so close to self. Reach to the sky and seek a higher realm, with feet firmly planted upon the earth. Yours is a special mission. You are a gentle soul with so much love and inspiration, much of which this earth is yet to know.
