Differences of opinion serve us well. They encourage freedom of speech and invite participation in the life of everyday events. They help to strengthen one’s convictions and provide for an ample display of true emotion. Without such differences one would die for lack of fire; that spark that ignites the spirit within and keeps one alert to another’s pain. We would be nothing without a conflict to bring us closer to ourselves, to know just what boils beneath the surface awaiting flight in air.
Do not shy away, then, from such arguments. Keep them civil, remain composed, but let your hidden feelings rise. Contribute all you have inside, and let go. Do not think of what conclusion should follow. Be free of outcomes, free to be yourself in the moment shared with another of pure note.
And in this time together you will begin to see the patterns which have been formed, and subsequently you will change your manner and reframe you stance until, together, you can contribute richly to each other’s lives without ill. And this experience will help you grow to be a better you, one more rounded, of character true to self.
Difficult though the times may often be, none will ever be more so until you are entirely free of the chains that bind you to your past identity. Be grateful to your friend who knows your pain. Be loving and thankful for the rain which showers down upon you when you speak your mind, and know that, with a little sun, you will be amply prepared to shine and grow into the human being your friend has known all along, and together you will live a rhyme of harmonious song.
