When one looks to distant stars for answers to life’s problems what in fact one does is try to search down deep within one’s very core, where a knowledge pool lies dormant waiting for a rekindling of a home-coming flame which will bring about a revitalisation of one’s name.

And so the near and far unite as one, and space is overcome. The distant star is known within. And this analogy is thus reflected in all facets of one’s life, where polar opposites are joined to form a cyclic pattern.

And if we take this thought a little further we shall see that man has his counterpart in life to meet. Someone who will help him be the all he knows he is at heart, someone who will be the friend unreasonable, and impart sense and loving wisdom at every stage, someone who will be with him for an age.

And when you meet this someone you will know it so, a friend as comfortable as a favourite slipper, as challenging as a tough opponent in a boxing ring. This gentle soul will be your shadow and growth will spring between you, and both will benefit. Times will be tough, but also deliciously splendid.

Don’t be surprised to thus discover that your opposite number is a known and trusted friend you’ve always thought of as the dependable one you’ve relied on in times of grief or pain, but whom you’ve often neglected when things were right as rain.

Take a moment now to reflect upon your life thus far. See the extremes and opposites you have experienced in the past as one and the same, just like you and your shadow friend, complete and oddly different all at once, but serving a higher purpose in the end.
