Sustenance is one of three basic essentials in this life, of which the remaining two comprise oxygen and shelter. But just what is meant by sustenance is oftentimes confused, with many varied explanations so hued.
In reality all that is required is pure, fresh, clear water and a wide range of raw foods; vegetables and fruits, nuts and seeds, legumes and pulses too, and a dash of cultured yoghurt and others of the like. In fact, these few groups would thus provide the vast majority of one’s needs, where the emphasis is on fuel for optimum energy, and not, as many have come to associate, with taste and social function.
Of course this sustenance is physical in nature and addresses the most basic needs. And if it’s true that we heal from above to below, and from inside, out, then one might have reason to doubt the effect that nutrition has on one who has yet to heal mentally and emotionally from one’s past.
But we do have control over what we eat and drink, and with education and a determination to live well, one can bring about all manner of revitalisation solely by abiding to these simple rules. Intuition functions clearly when one is free of toxins, and individual nutritional needs may be safely adjusted to suit. And although the road is hard, and great willpower is required, there is a pinnacle of achievement reached when one can say with honesty that the battle has been won, and therein after nutrition comes before all else.
Then, and only then, can true sustenance be attained of a higher order, fed from eternal springs of love. This is the ultimate nourishment one seeks, and is patiently awaiting all who take this path.
