Take a leaf from any book and read of wisdom there, understand the sentiment and message given fair. But what is the intended aim of a collection of mere words? How can such simple sounds translate to pearls?

To comprehend intended works written for mass distribution it is imperative that one realise the truth—that words themselves are nothing, at best symbolic gestures which hint at meanings far too difficult to express in two dimensions.

Analysis of text is near impossible unless one is the author, and even then, who is going to suggest that a certain bias does not exist which makes objective testimony as to content questionable? And then, when works have aged, and the author is not present, words have changed and meanings have been lost in aeons passed on by.

Archaic volumes become a relic if all one seeks are facts. If, however, pearls of wisdom are sought instead, then universal truths should amply shine, and thus the work consulted has some merit in the now. Try, when comprehending the meaning of a phrase, to lose yourself in the meter of the page, and let the individual words drop from lofty heights into your subconscious to evoke delight. Then, rest awhile and seek, not so soon, conclusions from your study, but wait until some days hence to reread the portions which inspired some response from deep within. Then the pearls will bear witness to the message you need to hear, and will be unique for you, and clear.
