Capricorn (22 Dec–20 Jan)

A mountain tall invites ascent,
It beckons, and it calls,
It promises a view, success,
Despite the terrain and rock falls.

It draws one away from the present,
Planting seeds of longing, hope,
It gives the gift of inspiration,
After effort, toil, and rope.

The journey arduous and long,
An impediment to the goal,
Excitement turns to anguish,
Exhaustion, crushing soul.

And as the summit beckons,
Proximity at odds with strength,
Grasping for a hand to help,
When none is found at length.

Against all odds arriving,
New found energy, the horizon bold,
Stamina and endurance tested,
Downhill once again, of old.
