South Africa
Sitting on a fence alone,
I hold my hand to be
Together with myself at last,
And live of one so free.
The warring which, below me,
Continues strong e’er long,
Disturbs me not for I am still,
And rest content in song
Of one note high and bold,
It echoes in me still,
It keeps me centered in my thoughts,
It gives of all I fill.
And one day soon I shall impart
This tune for all to hear,
And share my love and wisdom found,
To lend to all with ear.
