Peru
Leafy forests thus surround
A people true to form,
Who ache to be free at last,
And don a robe, so warm,
Of vibrant colour to portray
The glory so within,
To bring a joy so humble,
And of endless time, begin
To lead in mysteries evidenced
By the mass of men who seek,
To travel far and wide to find
The truth of that we speak.
But in the morn, when rays of sun,
Filter through the leaves,
The essence of your secret will
Be found, not one, by thieves.
