November
Loneliness and isolation
Patiently waiting for the tides to turn,
Watching the world all helter-skelter,
Whilst deep inside we yearn
Not to be part of all the chaos,
But to feel a sense of purpose bold,
To stand up tall and know the truth
Beyond the lies thus sold.
There is no-one who can save us
If we look without to see
The haze of confusion, longing,
Not the future shown with clarity.
The one sole answer lies within,
To embrace this time alone,
To build internal strength and courage,
And accept what we have always known,
That isolation is a form of unity,
Higher than the tallest tree,
Steadfast, and yet connected,
At one with the forest, and yet entirely free.
