What is more important: following a strict regime laid down by another to meet some desired objective of higher merit, or to relax, take time and absorb all life has to offer, and make haste slowly towards a similar, ultimate goal?
It is difficult to decide between two courses of action when consciously one knows that there is truth in both choices. And oftentimes the middle road does not exist, and compromises cannot easily be made.
The answer is to simply try one course, and follow such direction taken for as long as necessary in order to determine if it is right for you at this time. There is no harm in changing course midstream, no mistake or wrong decision.
It is far better to commit to one or other option and to change one’s mind at a later date, than to procrastinate and stagnate along the path. And just because one road may prove to be inappropriate at the time, does not mean that, in due course, you will not revisit it later. Know that, should you make such a journey later on, you will find the terrain familiar and more congenial because of the earlier effort made.
If, at any time, you find yourself under undue stress, and the wheels of life have lost their momentum for enjoyment, then take stock and readjust your course, make those minor realignments which will bring you back on track.
Despite what you may think there is no-one on your back except yourself. And when the motivator becomes the tyrant, accepting nothing but perfection, take control and find balance between the earthly realm and spiritual freedom. Your ultimate enlightenment depends upon this.
