Serenity is a word rarely found in today’s vocabulary, but not because of lack of application; more specifically due to the fact that very few men among us live and breathe the meaning behind the word.

And it is such a lovely sound when spoken out loud. It conjures up thoughts that convey its meaning with accuracy. Repeat it to yourself throughout the day. Let the vibration that is given off when spoken softly carry you away, far from the pace of this modern world, to another space in time. Rest tranquil in the knowledge that you have found a temporary haven from the beating drum of daily life.

And in time, and with practise, you will find such escape effortless, until the escape itself becomes your life, where you may function with ease and fulfil those obligations which, at this time, constitute the you with which you most identify.

And outwardly little will have changed, except that the word, serenity, will have become your name. And in your presence others will find peace; long enough to inspire them to make similar discoveries and changes to your own.

Think about the broader scheme of things that have also fallen into disuse, and begin to question their relevance today. You will likewise discover a myriad of useful tools to arm yourself with for future application.

Life is not about throwing out the old, but more about finding ways to accommodate the best of then with present day. Look hard enough and you will find the unique energies of each and every form, and these energies will represent the value of their continued use in this realm.
