Have you ever noticed a single piece of dust, and studied it with an open mind? Where does it come from, and where does it go when scattered to the winds of time?
Many folk dismiss such things as empty space, undeserving of attention, uninteresting at best. But what if all the clues to life were contained in such a microscopic view, patiently awaiting discovery by the few who took the time, and humbly bowed to the simplicity of nature’s forms?
Try to gain a better sense of proportion in your life by taking yourself out of your own strife. Focus your attention on the vast expanse of sky, and complement that with the miniscule, beyond detection of the naked eye.
You will be amazed and touched, forever changed by the eternal, infinite brilliance of all life. And all that troubled you, and consumed your everyday, will pale into relative insignificance as you begin to comprehend your place in the scheme of things.
Do not spend your entire life, so short, racing about, madly in illusion. Think on a broader scale, and balance your needs with those of a wider, all-encompassing view. When you understand the self-centeredness of your meagre life you will have come some way towards appreciating that piece of dust that ordinarily remains anonymous, ignored, and yet plays an integral part in all that is.
Make each moment count, but retain a sense of proportion. Your needs are no greater than those of a speck of dust, and yet without you there would be no life, no world, no universe. Ponder on this powerful thought, make it your mantra, and you shall live in peace forever more.
