A Daily Message

27 September

When the cool winter’s air begins to dominate, and a weaker sun hovers over a blanket of cloud, time it is to warm oneself and take comfort from the fact that there are ample reserves within to combat the harshest elements ahead. Winter is a wondrous time, and if truth be known, there is a certain reassurance born of isolation, and comfort in one’s hibernation long.

The cooler months are often thought of as barren, without life, but for some, months lead to years, as one experiences the darkened night. Resilience and toughness are born of self imposed hibernation, and a better understanding of the self issues forth a clearer, sunlit road ahead.

Welcome, then, the shorter days, and embrace their message well. Slow the pace of life and seek solace from oneself. Get to know your deepest, darkest secrets, and then let them go. Flow with life and let the past retire gracefully at last. Refuse to hold as hostage or harbour any guilt; the demons of the past have no powers over you.

Rug up warmly and face life’s harshest chill. Your courage and bold endeavour will fill you with hope and joy and peace at last. And from this new vantage point you will be forever warm and snug, ready to accept, head on, the challenges ahead; stronger for the solace you have sought from within, all knowing and powerful, with a humility and grace only possible of one who has won the race to freedom evermore.

Rejoice if you find yourself alone and in a darkened space. Time will heal, once and for all, and then you shall come out shining, radiant and full of life to share your experiences tall.
