The choice of how to spend one’s day is only limited by the extent to which one has freed oneself from past constraints. An income usually is sought, nourishment so too, and a degree of socialising and entertainment completes the day. But, when broken down this way there is a sense of something missing, and an echo of a youth on hold. How does one gracefully surrender to an older age, and find greater meaning in one’s life?
Most of us are caught up in our past, and have failed to thus become the adult we truly are. And if we lack examples from which to glean just what is meant by adulthood then we shall merely repeat that which has been the norm before.
In reality life is more than its segmented parts. All of the activities we undertake are part of a greater whole devised to help us grow creatively and thus contribute our unique talents lying dormant patiently.
Income should be derived from creative pursuits. Nourishment should be that which fuels our vehicle according to its need, and not simply that which pleases taste and smell. Social interaction should be for a greater cause and not for mutual gratification or gossip. And when it comes to entertainment, this is a vast illusion, and an excess of this pastime prevents our needed contribution from manifesting in this world.
Too much time is spent denying one’s own birthright, doing that which keeps our ignorance high. True health and healing thus reflects a more meaningful existence where this voluntary contribution is thus desired. But do not listen to these commands, make them your own mantra, be empowered from within, and your life will be an inspiration to yourself and others.
