To find a lifelong partner is an idyllic pursuit, made all the more appealing by the advertising dollar. But what is meant by such a collaboration, and whether it is thus desirable for each and everyone is another matter.

Relationships can be many things, friendship, shelter from the lonely road, confidence-building, a partnership in order to accomplish certain ends, but most of all one seeks that shadow side of self, a twin soul, no less, who will stand by and support one’s growth.

It is often stated that in order to find true love, one must first begin to love oneself in earnest. And, in so doing, one will begin to understand that the truest love is that of self. Relationships therefore represent varying degrees of intimacy and longevity. And the extent to which one maintains this relationship is ever determined by one’s destiny.

Have you yet to learn more about yourself that this partner can help you to reveal? Have you yet to complete together some important mission? Or are you both content to spend some time enjoying each other’s company some more? These are some of the numerous questions you may find provide some indication of the reason for your united front.

If, however, other reasons come to mind which do not provide a positive result, then, perhaps a closer scrutiny is required to determine why you find yourself in such a bind.

Not all of us are ready to hear the words of truth spoken by an unreasonable friend. But certainly one must know within one’s mind the reason for relationships endured. Your twin soul is out there awaiting a future time when, free from yesterday, you are ready to embrace the now.
